Stag Running Away With CS After 4-3 Victory
The Portland Stag are one game away from a sweep after slipping past the Spokane River Rats 4-3 at Tuttle Fields today. Leading the way for the Stag was right-hander Dave Burba, who was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Portland now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Alex S Gonzalez had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Portland. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Portland in front, 4-3.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Burba said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Tuttle Fields. Slated to start are Billy Taylor for the Spokane River Rats and Omar Olivares for the the Portland Stag.
