The Portland Stag moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the visiting Spokane River Rats at Tuttle Fields by a score of 6-1. Stag right-hander Omar Olivares was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Stag a 4-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Olivares was in the zone all game. He frustrated Spokane hitters while giving the Stag 7.1 innings of quality work. Olivares threw 125 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 10 punchouts.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Olivares said.
