Knights Beat Visiting Red Sox, 6-3
|
Charlotte Knights starter Scott Bankhead was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Boston Red Sox, 6-3. The winning pitcher was Bankhead, now 11-10. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. The Knights bumped their record to 78-72 with this latest triumph.
Contributing to the Charlotte win was Jason Giambi. In the bottom of the third, the 26-year old first baseman had a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-1, the Knights in front.
"I really like what we did out there today," Giambi said after the game.
