Twins Get One-Run Win at Chicago
|
The Minnesota Twins got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Pedro Astacio, but it was good enough for the club to take a 5-4 decision over the Chicago Cubs. Astacio, now 11-14, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Gene Walter got the save, his 4th in 5 chances.
Having an impact for Minnesota was Larry Walker. In the top of the fifth inning, the top prospect had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 2-0, Twins.
