Diamondbacks Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus Seattle
|
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Alex Fernandez was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Seattle Pilots, 8-3. Fernandez, the winner, moves to 8-8. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 6 walks. After today's action, Arizona sits at 79-80, while Seattle falls to 67-92.
Robin Ventura drove in one run for Arizona. The 30-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cliff Brantley. It was his 74th RBI of the season.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Ventura.
