Loretta Delivers Walk-Off Win for Creams
|
The Charlotte Knights got a sterling performance from pitcher Scott Bankhead, but the Creams still prevailed, 6-5. Bankhead was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Milwaukee reliever Steve Bedrosian was the winner. His record is now 5-3. The losing pitcher was Eric Hillman. Milwaukee, at 88-72, occupies second place in the Federal League Central Division.
Mark Loretta broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the 11th with a run-scoring single. It put the Creams in front, 6-5. For the game, Loretta was 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Loretta said.
