Cardinals Top Royals Behind Swift, 2-0
|
St. Louis Cardinals starter Bill C. Swift was in fine form against the Kansas City Royals at Royals Stadium, leading his team to a 2-0 win. Steve Chitren got the save, his 40th in 43 chances. The Cardinals bumped their record to 90-70 with this latest triumph.
Swift gave St. Louis a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 7 innings.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Louis manager Adam Rabel.
