Knights Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
The Comiskey Park faithful were treated to a dramatic, walk-off win.
The Charlotte Knights faced a tough opponent in Cleveland pitcher Bob Sebra, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Comiskey Park by a final score of 3-2. Sebra went 8 innings and allowed no earned runs. The winner was Charlotte reliever Matt Mantei, now 2-0. The loser was Willie Banks.
With the bases empty in the bottom of the 12th, Ruben Rivera delivered the knockout blow when he hit a walk-off solo home run to win it for Charlotte. In the contest, Rivera was 1 for 1 with a home run.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Charlotte skipper Tyler Vuxta. "I can't complain."
Charlotte has now won 3 in a row.
