Yankee Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Orlando Devil Rays and New York Yankees.
The New York Yankees got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Mark Clark, but it was good enough for the club to take a 3-2 decision over the Orlando Devil Rays. New York reliever Mike Henneman got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Xavier Hernandez was tagged with the loss.
In the bottom of the ninth inning of a 2-2 tie, New York catcher Jeff Grotewold hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It broke the deadlock and put New York on top, 3-2.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager Tigerr Wolfe.
Even with the win, the Yankees have a dismal 12-24 record.
