Twins Losing Streak at 7 After Extra-Inning Loss to Cubs
|
The Chicago Cubs got a stellar performance from pitcher Randy Tomlin, who handcuffed the Minnesota offense en route to a 4-2 win at Metrodome. Doug Jones closed the game out for Chicago, earning his 7th save. The slumping Twins have lost 7 straight.
Though he didn't earn the victory, Tomlin kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Chicago offense came through. Over 8.1 innings, he allowed 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Tomlin told the Chicago Chronicle.
