Key Dazzles in Texas Win
|
Texas played host to St. Louis at the friendly confines of Arlington Stadium.
Texas pitcher Jimmy Key did his part in helping his team beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 11-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Rangers, now 14-24, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Key, who dominated for Texas, earned the victory to move to 3-5. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8.2 innings, while striking out 4. St. Louis batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Enjoyed this one," Key told the Texas Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
