Twins Stumble, Lose to Devil Rays
Orlando right-hander Alan Benes made an effective start against the Minnesota Twins at Metrodome, leading his team to a 9-3 win. The Devil Rays raised their record to 3-2.

Orlando relied on the bat of Ron Gant to get the win. The left fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Devil Rays ahead, 3-0. For the game, Gant had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Benes.
