Erickson Now 6-3 After Subduing Pirates
|
Pitcher Scott Erickson was sensational for the St. Louis Cardinals in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Erickson received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Steve Chitren earned his 10th save in 12 tries. The Cardinals own a robust 31-18 mark.
Erickson made it look easy. He scattered 2 hits over 7.1 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 6-3.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said St. Louis manager Adam Rabel.
