Erickson, Cardinals Dispatch Red Sox
|
St. Louis right-hander Scott Erickson was in fine form, shutting out the Boston Red Sox, 2-0. Steve Chitren, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save. The Cardinals bumped their record to 34-20 with this latest triumph.
The Red Sox had trouble solving Erickson, who surrendered no earned runs on 1 hit over 8 innings.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Erickson said after the game.
