Valentin slugs 2 home runs, Leads St. Louis to 9-3 Win
The St. Louis Cardinals knocked off the Boston Red Sox by the score of 9-3. John Valentin provided some pop, going 2-for-5 with 2 home runs. The victory gives St. Louis a record of 34-21.

St. Louis used a clutch at-bat from Randy Ready to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cardinals ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Valentin said.
