Multi-HR Game for Clark in 6-0 Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays extended their winning streak at SkyDome.
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Will Clark, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Detroit Tigers, 6-0. Clark went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Blue Jays. Danny Jackson, credited with the win, is now 5-4. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 6.1 innings.
Clark came through with some timely hitting for Toronto. With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the third and one down, Clark hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season made it 2-0, Toronto.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Clark.
The slumping Tigers have lost 6 straight.
