Dodgers Lose, 5-2, at Olympic Stadium
|
Montreal starter Pedro Martinez pitched effectively against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Olympic Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. The winning pitcher was Martinez, now 7-2. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 11. Their 35-25 record puts the Expos second in the United League East Division.
Alex Cole had a productive at-bat for the Expos with two out in the bottom of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, the center fielder hit a 2-run single. The at-bat was important in the Montreal win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Cole told the Montreal Daily.
