Jones Lifts Creams to 8-6 Win
The Milwaukee Creams topped the Orlando Devil Rays, 8-6, with third baseman Chipper Jones playing a big role. Jones was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Creams in the win. Reliever Rob Murphy picked up the win. His record improves to 8-0. Xavier Hernandez took the loss. Jeff Calhoun was credited with the save for Milwaukee, his 7th of the season.

Jones had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch slider from Alan Embree, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Creams a 8-6 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Jones.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Milwaukee manager Sean Norman.

Milwaukee is second in the Federal League Central Division with a record of 36-27.
