Tigers Fall to Castillo and Mets, 2-0
|
In a tight game between the New York Mets and the Detroit Tigers, pitcher Frank Castillo was terrific on the mound. The New York right-hander was named the player of the game in New York's 2-0 win. New York now has a 3-game win streak.
Castillo's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 5 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 4 hits. Castillo, who is tied for 10th in the UL in strikeouts with 98, goes to 6-5 on the year with 98 strikeouts.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Julio Izquierdo.
