Devil Rays Hapless Against Reds, Rijo
Cincinnati starter Jose Rijo pitched effectively against the Orlando Devil Rays at Riverfront Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Doug Henry earned his 8th save in 16 chances. The Reds bumped their record to 47-37 with this latest triumph.

Rijo was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 7-3. In 8 innings of work, Rijo gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while striking out 11. The Devil Rays were never able to generate much offense.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Cincinnati manager Eric Deutsch said.
