Guthrie Shuts Out Diamondbacks Tuesday, June 24th, 1997 Mark Guthrie of the Montreal Expos humiliated the Arizona Diamondbacks at Olympic Stadium today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 6 hits. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Arizona manager Alen Maglajac, after the game. Guthrie whiffed 9 and walked 2 in the 3-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Guthrie said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
