Guthrie Shuts Out Diamondbacks
Tuesday, June 24th, 1997
Mark Guthrie of the Montreal Expos humiliated the Arizona Diamondbacks at Olympic Stadium today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 6 hits.

"He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Arizona manager Alen Maglajac, after the game.

Guthrie whiffed 9 and walked 2 in the 3-0 win.

"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Guthrie said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."

Thus far this season, Guthrie has worked 121 innings with 101 strikeouts en route to a 12-1 record and a 2.83 ERA.
