Encarnacion Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle Thursday, July 3rd, 1997 Juan Encarnacion had a special day at Joe Robbie Stadium today, contributing to the Florida Marlins' 13-2 win and hitting for the cycle along the way. The 21-year-old left fielder went 4-for-5, raking a single, double, triple and home run against the Boston Red Sox. "Boy, Juan had himself a ballgame, didn't he?" Florida manager Stephen Ginter said later. "You don't see that very often." For the day, Encarnacion finished with 6 runs batted in and 2 runs scored to go with his 4 hits. Juan Encarnacion flied out in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Eric Plunk in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
