Key Holds New York Scoreless
Sunday, August 13th, 1995
Today was Jimmy Key's turn in the rotation for the Orlando Sun Rays and he made the most of it, shutting out the New York Yankees on 3 hits.
The 34-year-old left-hander led the Sun Rays to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing 2 walks and tallying 8 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," New York manager Patrick McQuail said. "Key certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
Thus far this season, Key has tossed 185.1 innings in 25 starts, fanned 134 batters, walked 54 and put up a 3.50 ERA with 10 wins and 9 losses.
