Hillman Zeroes in On Los Angeles
Tuesday, August 2nd, 1994
San Diego Padres pitcher Eric Hillman blanked the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 at Jack Murphy Stadium today, tossing a 2-hitter while issuing no walks and collecting 7 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club.
"I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Hillman said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
Hillman has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 9-9 record with a 4.89 ERA. The San Diego reliever has limited opposing batters to a .277 batting average.
