Boston Blanked by Torres
Thursday, August 11th, 1994
Today was Salomon Torres's turn in the rotation for the Atlanta Braves and he made the most of it, shutting out the Boston Red Sox on 6 hits.
The 22-year-old right-hander led the Braves to an easy 6-0 victory, allowing 1 walk and tallying 7 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Boston manager Brett Williams said. "Torres certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
This year Torres has a 4-1 record and a 4.95 ERA.
