Minnesota Blanked by Miranda
Friday, August 12th, 1994
Angel Miranda of the Texas Rangers spun his magic on the Minnesota Twins today. He blanked them 13-0 on 4 hits, registering 11 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Miranda said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Texas skipper Sean Norman said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Angel pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
This year Miranda has recorded a 8-9 mark. In 25 starts he has fanned 156 batters in 174.2 innings with a 4.59 ERA.
