Rockies Blank Padres, Hershiser Wins Friday, August 26th, 1994 Today was Orel Hershiser's turn in the rotation for the Colorado Rockies and he made the most of it, shutting out the San Diego Padres on 2 hits. The 35-year-old right-hander led the Rockies to an easy 11-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 11 strikeouts. "I hope we miss him next time," San Diego manager Chris Levin said. "Hershiser certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
