Martinez Pitches Montreal to Shutout Victory Monday, September 5th, 1994 Pedro Martinez of the Montreal Expos humiliated the Detroit Tigers at Olympic Stadium today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 1 hit. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Detroit manager Julio Izquierdo, after the game. Martinez whiffed 15 and walked 1 in the 2-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Martinez said. "I was making good pitches the entire game." This year Martinez has compiled a 18-4 mark with a 1.83 ERA.
