Gooden at His Best, Whips Senators
Wednesday, September 7th, 1994
The Baltimore Orioles rolled to an easy 5-0 win over the Washington Senators at Memorial Stadium today. Leading the way to victory was starter Dwight Gooden, who shackled the Washington Senators and held them scoreless on a 3-hitter.
"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Gooden said in his postgame press conference.
This year Gooden has made 30 starts, thrown 237 innings, fanned 247 batters and walked 69. His won-lost record is 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA.
