Tibbs Hurls San Antonio to Shutout Victory
Monday, June 2nd, 1997
The San Antonio Missions rolled to an easy 5-0 win over the Tucson Tarantulas at Texans Stadium today. Leading the way to victory was starter Jay Tibbs, who shackled the Tucson Tarantulas and held them scoreless on a 3-hitter.

"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Tibbs said in his postgame press conference.

Tibbs has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-4 record with a 3.95 ERA. The San Antonio reliever has limited opposing batters to a .254 batting average.
