Alex Ochoa Chosen ATL's Best Player Monday, September 22nd, 1997
The manager of the Hartford Whalers said he thinks Alex Ochoa is only going to get better as he gets older.
He may only be 25, but it will be hard to top the right fielder's 1997 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Atlantic Most Valuable Player Award.
His winning campaign featured a .385 batting average and a .440 on-base percentage this year. In 111 games he piled up 190 hits, 33 doubles, 8 triples, 19 home runs, 99 RBIs and 135 runs scored.
