Omaha Whitewashes Colorado Springs, Tapani Winner Saturday, July 29th, 1995 Kevin Tapani subdued the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 1-0, pitching a 5-hit gem for the Omaha Storm Chasers at Motors Ballpark. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Omaha skipper said afterward. Tapani registered 8 strikeouts and issued no walks in his superb performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Colorado Springs manager after the defeat. On the season Tapani has compiled a 18-4 mark with a 3.30 ERA in 24 starts.
