Tight Tilt Goes to Red Wings, 3-2
|
The Rochester Red Wings stopped the Columbus Clippers, 3-2, behind an impressive performance from Quinn Mack. The 29-year old left fielder made life miserable for Columbus pitching. He was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Rochester reliever Lee Hancock picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-5. Jim Converse was collared with the loss. Even with the win, the Red Wings have a dismal 10-82 record.
An important at-bat for Rochester came with one out in the top of the fourth. With a runner on 1st, Mack hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Red Wings win.
"We'll savor this win," Mack told the Rochester Times, "then get ready for the next game."
