Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Sounds, 2-0
|
When he got to Nashville, Willie E Adams was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the League Championship Series.
The 23-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Naperville Lazy Fisherman 2-0 in a remarkable performance at Red Devils Stadium today. With the win, the Sounds took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Adams gave Nashville a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 7 hits over 9 innings.
Adams said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
Game 6 is scheduled for Friday, August 30th, 1996 in Naperville. The scheduled starters for the game are Paul Wilson for the Nashville Sounds and Ugueth Urbina for the the Naperville Lazy Fisherman.
