Stag Clip Bisons 4-3 in WS Contest
The Portland Stag and the Buffalo Bisons will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Stag beat the Bisons 4-3 at Aspinwall Grounds to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Portland left-hander Jason Jacome was named player of the game in the win after he threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball.

It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for Mike Macfarlane, the 33-year old catcher . Macfarlane contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Portland up, 4-0.

"We're happy," Macfarlane told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Dave Burba for the Portland Stag and Danny Jackson for the the Buffalo Bisons.
