Buffalo Wins at Home to Take 4-3 Lead in WS
|
The Buffalo Bisons moved to within one game of the Round 4 today, downing the Portland Stag 3-0 in a low-scoring affair at Aspinwall Grounds. Leading the attack for the Bisons was left fielder Roger Cedeno, who was named player of the game after he went 2-4 with a double. The win gives the Bisons a 4-3 advantage in the best-of-7 World Series.
Portland had runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the eighth. With no one out, Bret Barberie came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he hit into a double play. The score remained 2-0, Buffalo. The Stag saw their comeback bid fail.
