Gene Richards
Gene Richards played for the organization from 1977 to 1989, appearing in 1,754 games and starting 1,710. Over 7,041 at-bats, he recorded 2,047 hits, 1,034 runs, 280 doubles, 158 triples, and a .291 batting average. At the time No. 19 was retired, Richards was the franchise leader in each of those categories, cementing his place as one of the greatest players in team history.
